Tacos not Bombs

Kairos Outside

An important exception to Jesus’ teaching on forgiveness in Matthew 18!  I want to ensure that anyone in an abusive relationship is NOT required to take that abuse.  The most loving thing an abused person can do is to seek help, and move themselves and their children to a safe environment.  And, the most loving act an abused person can do is to report the abuser, so that the abuser gets help.  I can assure anyone reading this, that if they are in an abusive relationship, there are safe places that they can go to.  They will be protected.  And, there are many resources to help the abuser stop abusing.  Jesus does not expect us to be abused.  These emergency numbers:  1-800-580-4878 or 361-881-8888 are answered 24 hours, 7 days a week.  Not sure?  For a private confidential meeting, call Pastor Cliff at 325 218 2737

Every 4th Sunday we take books down to Artesian Park for the homeless as part of a mobile library, known as Street books.  We leave after worship at noon and return around 2 PM.    We are collecting every kind of genre of books, and yes, even kids books.   If you would like to help, contact Rachel in the office.

Our church is very involved with the people and especially children of our community.  We have opened our doors to feed and give thanks for the educators at OE-ISD.  We have blessed backpacks that were donated to the schools at the beginning of the school year.
